दमदमी टकसाल प्रमुख गाँव डेकवाला (रोपड़) में विशेष तौर पर मुख मंत्री बेआँतसिंह कत्ल केस में आजीवन कैद की सजा सुनाए जा चूेके भाई जगतार सिंह तारा के परिवार की सार लेने आए थे। इस मौके भाई तारा के भ्राता भाई शमशेर सिंह की धर्म पत्नी बीबी बलजीत कौर और भरजाई बीबी कवलजीत कौर समेत पारिवारिक सदस्यों को सिरोपाउ के साथ सम्मानित किया। पत्रकारों के साथ बातचीत करते बाबा हरनाम सिंह ख़ालसा ने बताया कि सिक्ख संघर्ष में पडऩे से पहले भाई तारा पारिवारिक जि़ंमेवारियें निभाउंदा रहा। उन कहा कि भाई तारा को सुनाई गई सजा प्रति विश्व के इंसाफ़ पसंद लोगों की निगाह में और सिक्ख कौम के हृदय में भारी रोश है। उन कहा कि भाई तारा ने विश्व सामने मुख मंत्री बेआँतसिंह को कत्ल करन पीछे उस की सता दौरान हज़ारों बेकसूर नौजवानों के कत्ल होने की बादलील और पूरी निडरता के साथ कौम की पिड़ा और जज़बातों को ज़ुबान दी। उस ने बेअंत सिंह कत्ल केस में अपनी भूमिका को लिखित तौर पर कबूल कर लेने उपरांत अपनी दृढ़ता में कोई कमी नहीं आने दी। उस की तरफ से सख़्त सजा सुनाए जाने पर भी उन जि़ंदगी की भिक्षा नहीं माँगी और अपने साथ किसी तरह भी नरमी बरताव बारे अपील करन से इन्कार करते सीख कौम की गौरवशाली शानदार रवायत को कायम रखें प्रति दृढ़ता दिखाने के लिए वह सीख कौम में सदा सत्कारा जाता रहेगा।
उन कहा कि भारत में सिक्खों के लिए अलग कानून और अलग व्यवस्था है। सज़ाएं पुरी कर चूे सीख कैदियों की रिहाई के लिए कौम को लडऩा पड़ रहा है। भारत में उम्र कैद 20 साल की होती है परन्तु 20 साल से ज्यादा कैद काट चूे भाई तारा को आखिऱी श्वास तक कैद की सजा सुना कर सिक्खों के साथ बेइन्साफ़ी की गई है। जब कि सीख हत्याकांड के दोषी किशोरी लाल जैसे को परोल पर रिहाई देने में देरी नहीं की गई। यहाँ तक कि बुड़ैल जेल में नजऱबंद भाई परमजीत सिंह भ्युरा को सेहत पक्ष से नाजुक हालत में गुजऱ रही अपनी बीमार माँ को भी मिलने की आज्ञा नहीं दी गई। न ही भाई जगतार सिंह हवारा की पीठ दर्द के इलाज प्रति जेल प्रशासन ने संजीदगी दिखाई। उन कहा कि सीख कौम के योद्धों ने कौम की आन शान के लिए बलियों दीं वहाँ उन के परिवारों की बलि भी किसी बातों कम नहीं जो हमेशा मुसीबतों और चुनौतियों का साहस दिलेरी और दृढ़ता के साथ सामना किया। यह पंथ के परिवार हैं और पंथ का रोम रोम इन परिवारों का सत्कार करती है। उन कहा कि हकूमत सीख कौम के हक हकूक के लिए संघर्षशील सिक्ख नौजवानों को सख़्त सज़ाएं दे कर भी उन का हौसला पस्त नहीं कर सकेगी। सिक्ख कौम को दबाया नहीं जा सकता और कौम अपने हक सत्य और न्याय के लिए लड़ाई जारी रखेगी।
